The 2013 Face of Biking in Dallas is being chosen by popular vote, from Tuesday the 23rd through Saturday April 27th 2013. Vote here!

The 2012 Face of Biking in Dallas Winners received:
- Linus pannier
- Chocolates from Coco Andre Chocolatier
- Gift Certificate from Repotted
- and more, from Richardson Bike Mart and Oak Cliff Bicycle
Winners were announced at the fashion awards event, a night of awards, bikes, fashion, photos, drinks, food trucks, and friends.
A portion of the proceeds went to Pedal Power, our local bicycle charity that provides used bikes for transportation and commerce to those in need.
We also had a complimentary Rum and Blue Agave tasting with Railean Distillery (Blue Agave would be called tequila if it were made in Tequila, Mexico – but it’s MADE IN TEXAS!) and complimentary Deep Ellum and Franconia beer.
Local professionals styled-out cyclist models on display with their bikes, with all the Cyclist Census photos projected on the gallery walls.

Santa brought me and the new blue bike together when I was six and we’ve had many fun hours together. As a teenager, I painted it black and red complete with flames. With new tires from Oak Cliff Bicycle Co, installed on those rusty rims, and with my recent retirement, my bike and I expect to share many more pleasures.

Yeah, we had some technical difficulties involving a paying photographer gig that ran late and kept our guy out of pocket till about 2. It happens. We’re planning multiple backup plans for next year. Thanks for coming out! So sorry we missed you!!

You don’t know who any of these people are do you? Some of these people have helped push and grow the community of cycling in Dallas. Some of these people have influenced hundreds to start riding bikes. They’ve helped push the city to start the process of bike lanes. Not just someone who rides every day. Actually, a few are. It’s like wearing a seat belt – it’s the law but you get to decide whether to buckle up or not. Luckilly, with all the cool helmets being designed lately, looking good on a bike and being safe aren’t mutually exclusive!
